G-Cloud 15: our new FAQ

Since G-Cloud 15 launched last month, we’ve had great questions from both existing customers and those exploring iShare for the first time. Here are the top five questions we’ve received:

How is iShare priced under G-Cloud 15?

With iShare’s new Capability Model, you only pay for what you use. This flexible pricing allows new customers to start small, test the platform, and easily scale up to a fixed price as their needs grow. Existing customers can scale up or down, as their needs change.

    Optional iShare capabilities include:

    • Spotlight for Maps
    • Spotlight for LocalInfo
    • iShare GIS
    • Advanced Edit
    • iShare with Clarity
    • Logger
    • iShare Mobile with QField (enterprise)
    • iShare Mobile with QField (dept)
    • iShare Insights with PowerBI
    • Vector Data Download Service

We’ll still provide iShare Desktop with QGIS but this is still priced by user, not by the Capability Pricing Model.

    Does Astun reward customer loyalty?

To show our appreciation for loyal iShare customers, existing clients can now receive savings of up to 15% through our new Customer Success & Partnership Program on G-Cloud 15. All eligible discounts are applied automatically by Astun.

What are the differences between a direct award and mini competitions?

Direct awards, the traditional way of procuring services under G-Cloud, can be completed in a few days. Customers with more complex requirements and more time to spare can now choose to run a mini competition under G-Cloud 15. Andrew Smart provides more information, “G-Cloud 15 mini-competitions allow public sector buyers to compare pre-approved framework suppliers and run a focused bidding process to select the best value service for a specific project. Customers should be aware that these take longer than a direct award.”

What happens to prices if inflation rises?

With inflation factored into our pricing structure from the start, you can be confident that our prices will stay exactly the same throughout the initial term (up to four years) and the two optional 12-month extension periods.

I’m new to Astun, how can I find out about what’s available under G-Cloud 15?
